Ritual #1 Encounters (2024) Performance Video/Digital/Short Film

Artists Alberto Aguilar, Jess Bass, and Yue Xu interact with selected works at the National Museum of Mexican Art in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. Through intimate and creative responses, the artists provide personal interpretations of the relationship between the museum space and contemporary performative practices.

Ritual #1 Encounters premiered at the National Museum of Mexican Art as a part of Alberto Aguilar's Museum Church program for the Chicago Humanities Festival.
